Low Clearance

My 50th stamp!

I can't deny that this goes along with my latest rant about people getting offended by absolutely everything. I have to admit, this one is a little personal - meaning that this is not just a message, but a statement of my own policy toward people who want to enter into a debate with me. I recently had someone (not mentioning any names - sorry) on my page who disagreed with the message of one of my deviations. That alone, of course, is fine - I have no problem with people disagreeing with me. If I did, I'd have no business being a stamper. This, unfortunately, went beyond that. The deviant in question, rather than wanting to talk about it rationally, decided to come in at full boil, indignant and offended. I kept trying to tone it down, but the deviant kept insisting that my artwork was "inflammatory" and had no business being posted. At that point I calmly replied that I'm not going to try and stop anyone from being offended if they are determined to be so, and blocked this deviant from posting any more. (Yes, I block people who deserve it. That does not make me a butthurt wimp.) This deviant, not content to leave it there, visited a page of one of my friends on DeviantArt, and began complaining to him about my artwork.

Anyway, all that to say - I will always make the utmost effort to remain polite and respectful to you, even if your point of view differs from my own. But, as this stamp says, the clearance here is low - if you remain on your high horse, you will bump your head. If you are determined to be offended by what I say, then I will not try to stop you. If you want to remain miserable, that is your choice. But keep arguing with me and accusing me of being offensive, and you will be blocked. At that point you can report me and let the DeviantArt administrators decide whether or not I am following the Etiquette Policy, but I think you will be disappointed there.
